The Fort Wayne TinCaps' offensive struggles continued Tuesday. Getting only two hits after the fourth inning, the TinCaps lost to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-2 at Parkview Field. Fort Wayne has scored three runs in as many games – all losses – including being shutout by Wisconsin on Monday.
The teams tied with six hits each but Wisconsin made theirs count. Fort Wayne had opportunities to score with runners but left nine runners on base and went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
Brad Zunica had two of the TinCaps' six hits including a double and an RBI. Other hits were by Fernando Tatis Jr., Reinaldo Ilarazza, Jorge Ona and a double by Hudon Potts. Tatis had the teams other RBI with a triple in the ninth inning.
Timber Rattlers starter Trey Supak struck out a career-high 11 batters in 5.2 innings of work on the mound while only allowing one run.
Logan Allen, 1-2, took the loss for Fort Wayne. He allowed three earned runs in five innings. Jose Galindo pitched two innings of no-hit, no-run ball in relief.
The teams were to play the third and final game of the series at 11:05 this morning.
