Saturday, August 19, 2017 10:20 am

Nate Easley, Hudson Potts and Kyle Overstreet each drove home three runs, as the Fort Wayne TinCaps beat the Great Lakes Loons 18-5 on Friday at Parkview Field. The 18 runs tied a franchise record for runs in a game.

Potts homered and singled twice, scoring four runs and driving in three.

Down 3-0, the TinCaps went out in front with four runs in the second inning, including a two-run triple by Reinaldo Ilarraza and an RBI-double by Fernando Tatis.

Great Lakes bounced back with two in the top of the third to grab a 5-4 lead.

Fort Wayne scored the next 14 runs, including six in the fifth, highlighted by Easley's two-run single. Potts hit his 15th homer of the season - a three-run shot in the seventh when the TinCaps tallied five runs.

Jim McDade, 3-3, got the win with five innings of scoreless relief. The 24-year-old right-hander didn't allow a hit and struck out five.

Jordan Guerrero pitched the final two innings for Fort Wayne and blanked the Loons on two hits while striking out six.

Besides Potts' three hits, other TinCaps enjoying big nights at the plate were Easley, Overstreet and Ilarraza with two hits each. Tatis, Jorge Ona and G.K. Young added one hit each giving Fort Wayne 12 for the game.

Connor Wong homered and singled, driving home three runs and scoring a couple for Great Lakes.
