The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association released their 2016-2017 girls basketball All-State teams on Wednesday.

The "Supreme 15" is the top honor awarded, and players were voted to that group without regard to school size. The Large School and Small School all-state teams are secondary accolades — the Large School group including players from Class 3A and Class 4A schools and the Small School group including players from Class A and Class 2A schools. Players who make the Supreme 15 are not considered for Large School or Small School honors.

Homestead's Karissa McLaughlin and Madisen Parker lead the area as part of the Senior All-State Supreme 15. McLaughlin averaged 25.9 points and Parker averaged 16.8 points per game with both girls hitting above their season average last Saturday to lead the Spartans to the program's first state title with a win over Pike.

Of Regional note, Whitko's Aly Reiff joined the Spartan duo on the Senior Supreme 15.

Shania Kelly of Concordia Lutheran was the lone area Senior All-State selection. Joining her as Senior All-State Honorable Mention selections are: Lanie Allen (East Noble), Isabella Coats (Blackhawk Christian), Kyla Covington (Snider), Brianna Cumberland (Whitko), Jazmyne Geist (Homestead), Abbie Heischman (Leo), Rain Hinton (Woodlan), Megan Newby (Garrett), Zoey Pearson (Bluffton), Courtney Pulver (Blackhawk Christian), Kaylee Roller (Norwell) and Mason VanHouten (Canterbury).

DeKalb's Leigha Brown was named to the Underclass All-State Supreme 15. Other area and regional players making the regular Underclass All-State team are Concordia Lutheran's Carissa Garcia and Central Noble's duo of Sydney Freeman and Meleah Leatherman.

Area Underclass All-State Honorable Mention selections are: Kelli Damman (Carroll), Lexi Dellinger (South Adams), Grace Hunter (Bellmont), Sophia Pierce (Leo), Ellen Ross (Bishop Dwenger), Logan Rowles (Norwell) and Sylare Starks (Concordia Lutheran).
