The Fort Wayne TinCaps scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning for a dramatic 2-1 win over West Michigan on Tuesday at Parkview Field. A one-out RBI-single by Rod Boykin scored Fernando Tatis Jr. with the winning run.

Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the ninth, the TinCaps got a break when an error by Whitecaps' shortstop Daniel Pinero allowed Hudson Potts to reach base safely to start the inning. Tatis doubled to center field driving in Potts with the tying run. A passed ball allowed Tatis to advance to third with no outs. After Eguy Rosario struck out, Brad Zunica and Marcus Greene Jr. were walked intentionally to load the bases for Boykin. Fort Wayne's left fielder hit a single to center to end the game.

The TinCaps got outstanding pitching from Hansel Rodriguez and Louis Distacio. Rodriguez started on the mound and didn't allow a run in six innings. The left hander gave up four hits and struck out two. Distacio, 1-0, gave up one run in three innings while striking out five.

Boykin collected two of Fort Wayne's six hits. Other hits were by Jack Suwinski, Potts, Tatis and Rosario.

The teams were scheduled for the third and final game of a three-game series at 11:05 Wednesday morning. West Michigan won the first game Monday. The TinCaps begin a four-game series at Great Lakes at 6:05 p.m. Thursday.
