“Die already McCain!”

The sign posted on the southeast corner of Clinton and Williams streets is pretty clear; the owner of the vacant lot does not like John McCain.

OK, I get that, John McCain is not my favorite politician either, but I believe that there probably is a much better way to express that than demand the early demise of a man who has given so much to this country.

I can't help but wonder what has become of us as people that we wish death upon others for no other reason that they have different political views. I know passions run high and our beliefs drive many people to say and do things in the heat of the moment that is not their norm, but this is calculated and thought out, boldly placed in a high visibility area where people are accustomed to look for this one individuals inspiring messages, and yes I remember the plea to get Sandy Thompson back.

This however, is different, he isn't urging us to exercise our individual rights, but urging, hoping, praying for the death of a man. I think this says more about the poster than just his political views.
