Letter to the editor: Two things about hope

One prominent person recently asserted that we Americans have lost hope, and we were pointed to the present state of affairs as the reason. Logically, it’s equally true that hope has been lost because of the past, and it’s recently been made abundantly clear. The other thing is, hope in what or whom? Hope without an object is no hope at all; it’s empty, meaningless. Hope in hope? Hope that is worthwhile is hope in a worthy object. Things human fail the test. The only real and sure hope is in God!
