Letter to the editor: The arc of cynicism

At the age of 44, (no mere adolescent misstatement here) before becoming the First Lady, Michelle Obama told us that “for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country.” She has now concluded her free stay at the country’s best hotel and closes out this arc of ungratefulness by saying: “Now the country knows what not having hope feels like.” Pretty arrogant and cynical for someone who has spent the last eight years living off my nickel, under the world’s most glamorous rainbow of vacations, socializing, world travel, security and I hear the White House kitchen makes a decent meal. Michelle, I for one, have hope, for the first time in eight years.
