Fort Wayne firefighters put out blaze at vacant house

Fort Wayne firefighters quickly put out a fire in a house downtown Friday morning.

Firefighters responded at 11:19 a.m. to a call of a blaze in a vacant house near the intersection of East Washington Boulevard and Clay Street. The fire in the 500 block of East Washington was brought under control at 11:27 a.m. and no one was injured. The blaze on the first floor of the two-story house caused moderate damage, and the cause is being investigated.
