Abandoned house burns on Henrietta Street

Fort Wayne Fire Department firefighters put out a blaze on Henrietta Street on Monday morning.

Firefighters responded at at 10:52 a.m. to a house fire that was reported to be in an abandoned structure at 2339 Henrietta St. The first units to arrive in three minutes reported smoke showing from the first and second floors and fire coming from the first-floor windows, according to a news release. Firefighters entered the house and found a blaze on both the first and second floors. A search of the structure found it to be vacant and the fire was placed under control in 27 minutes. No injuries were reported and crews remained on the scene to complete overhaul and investigate the cause, which remains under investigation.

The fire department was assisted on the scene by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, Neighborhood Code Compliance and American Electric Power.
