A Fort Wayne man was sentenced to serve four years in prison in two cases Tuesday morning in Allen Superior Court.
Kdrian D. Key, 22, of the 4600 block of Heatherwind Drive, was sentenced to serve three years, with two years of probation, of a five-year term for carrying a handgun without a license and one year for pointing a firearm at his girlfriend, firing a shot in the air Sept. 10, while a police officer had Key under surveillance, according to a probable-cause affidavit filed in the case.
The girlfriend told police she was afraid he was going to shoot her, and police apprehended Key and recovered the spent 45-caliber shell casing from the grass outside the apartment. Police also found about 339.8 grams of marijuana and .08 grams of cocaine on Key, the affidavit said.
In another case from a couple of months ago, Key was found in possession of cocaine and marijuana, according to court documents. In that case, Key received a one-year sentence, which is to be served consecutively, or one after the other, with the firearms case.
Key pleaded guilty March 23. According to the plea agreement, charges of possessing a narcotic drug, criminal recklessness and possession of marijuana were dismissed in the September 2016 case. a charge of possession of marijuana was dismissed in the March case.
Key has 40 days' jail credit in each of the two cases.
