A Fort Wayne man was sentenced for criminal trespass after gaining access to a Fort Wayne Community Schools bus last October.

Vincent J. Harris Jr., 19, of the 4500 block of Gaywood Drive, was sentenced Tuesday in Allen Superior Court to serve six months of a 1 1/2-year sentence for criminal trespass, a Level 6 felony. A battery charge was dismissed.

Harris pleaded guilty June 21, admitting he gained access to a Fort Wayne Community Schools bus at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the intersection of Winter Street and Pettit Avenue, yelled at the bus driver and hit him after he attempted to reach for the bus radio to call for help, according to a probable-cause affidavit.
