A man is in custody after barricading himself inside a residence when police arrived to investigate a fight, according to a police report.

Fort Wayne Police responded to a fight inside a residence at 11:09 p.m. Monday in the 3000 block of Tonawanda Drive, where a male and female were fighting.

When police officers attempted to contact the man, he retreated into a back room, barricading himself inside. After he failed to cooperate with numerous requests to surrender, the Emergency Services Team and Crisis Response Team responded to the scene.

The man surrendered peacefully just before 3:45 a.m. and was taken into custody without incident.
