The Indiana State Police reported residents have received telephone calls from people identifying themselves as ISP representatives who are soliciting funds for victims of Hurricane Harvey.

ISP reported the residents called to report the scam but did not fall victim to the phone solicitors.

The Indiana State Police is not soliciting funds for Hurricane Harvey victims and will not be contacting residents by telephone to request funds.

If some calls, ask the caller to send you information through the mail to review.

These scam artists use Caller ID spoofing to make the call appear to come from any phone number the caller wishes, including the Indiana State Police.
