A man who was shot to death early Friday morning is the city's latest homicide victim.
Police responded to a report of gunshots at 12:18 a.m. Friday in the 900 block of Francis Street and found a man on the ground next to the intersection of Francis Street and East Washington Boulevard.
The man, Terrance Lynn Miles, 36, of Fort Wayne, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The Allen County Coroner's Office determined Miles died of gunshot wounds, making him the 11th homicide in Allen County in 2017.
Miles was an administrative assistant at Forest Park Elementary School and was an assistant football coach for North Side High School's football team, according to Fort Wayne Community Schools spokeswoman Krista Stockman.
The shooting remains under investigation.
