Fort Wayne Police responded to an armed robbery at 4 p.m. Saturday, only to discover the robbery had taken place at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 26 at McDonald's, 202 E. Rudisill Blvd., according to a police report.

The woman told police an older black man wearing a dark green stocking cap, a black coat with a gray stripe down both sleeves and black pants opened her front passenger door, sat down in the seat and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her and told her to drive. The suspect who was in his 50s, had some facial hair and yellowed eyes told her to drive to the Marathon gas station at the intersection of Clinton and Lafayette streets and McKinnie Avenue, where she said he made her purchase foru packs of cigarettes, chips and a snack with her credit card, the report said.

The woman said he fled on foot after giving him the items. After seeing a suspect in the media after the recent Family Dollar robbery, she thought the suspect who robbed her could be the same man, so she reported the incident, the report said.
