Kyle J. Helton, 30, of Lima, Ohio, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Allen Superior Court to theft and criminal mischief counts relating to an October theft at a Wal-Mart store and received a one-year suspended sentence that will be served on probation. Helton admitted he and his wife entered a local Wal-Mart store on Oct. 25 and took multiple DVDs and Blu-ray movies totaling $919.52. He also admitted he broke the lock on his handcuffs on Oct. 27, resulting in the misdemeanor criminal mischief charge for which he received a 180-day suspended sentence, also to be served on probation. Both sentences will run concurrently, or at the same time.

Helton also was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $919.52 to Wal-Mart for the movies and $51.99 to the city of Fort Wayne for the handcuffs.
