Sentencing is set for Feb. 21 for Dontea T. Sanders of Fort Wayne, who pleaded guilty Friday in Allen Superior Court to one of the six child molesting charges filed against him. Sanders, 33, of the 800 block of Villa Park Court, was charged Oct. 19, 2015, with six counts of child molesting for incidents involving a girl known to him that reportedly took place at his home between June 1 and Nov. 30 during 2014. The girl was age 10 at the time her mother and grandmother reported the alleged molesting to police in December 2014, court documents said.

Sanders was scheduled to stand trial on the charges next week.

At the hearing Friday, however, Sanders pleaded guilty to Count VI of the charges, which alleges he fondled the girl sometime between July 1 and Nov. 30 of 2014.

As part of the plea agreement with the Allen County Prosecutor's office, Sanders will serve no more than four years in jail, though he can be sentenced to additional time that can be suspended or served on probation. Allen Superior Judge John Surbeck also has the discretion to impose a fine or restitution, and Sanders will be ordered to have no future contact with the victim.

In addition, the prosecutor's office agreed to dismiss the five other charges at Sanders' sentencing.
