Carroll tennis finishes season in state quarterfinals

The Carroll girls tennis team finished its season with a 22-4 mark after falling 4-1 to defending state champion and No. 1-ranked Indianapolis Cathedral on Friday in the state quarterfinals. The Chargers' No. 1 doubles team of sophomores Mia Toscos and Lauren VanWyngarden won their match 6-1, 6-0 to stay alive in the state doubles tournament. They are 27-2.

The Chargers did not have a senior on their roster. Junior Sydney Jackson finished 24-5 at No. 1 singles, freshman Katelyn VanWyngarden was 24-5 at No. 2 singles and sophomore Bailey Newman was 27-2 at No. 3 singles. Junior Hannah Wallace and sophomore Katie Beier finished 27-2 at No. 2 doubles.
