The Historic West Main Street Farmers Market opens for the season 3-8 p.m. Friday at 1936 W. Main St.

This is the ninth year for the market, where shoppers can find locally grown produce, Indiana-produced foods, and local arts and crafts items on Friday evenings throughout the summer, a news release said.

The market accepts SNAP/EBT and WIC vouchers through the HEAL (Healthy Eating Active Living) program funded by Parkview Health and the St. Joseph Community Health Foundation, a news release said. It also offers free booth space to local nonprofits serving the community and helps promote local musicians, performers and artists.
