Art competition for young artists with disabilities
VSA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities learn through, participate in and enjoy the arts. VSA recently announced their new Emerging Young Artists Program to recognize and showcase the work of young artists with disabilities. Fifteen winning artists will share a total of $60,000 in awards. Winners will exhibit their selected artwork in a year-long touring exhibition and attend an all-expenses-paid professional development workshop in Washington, D.C.
All art forms eligible, including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, scupture, photography, textile, video and digital. Artists must have a disability and be 16 to 25 years old.
Deadline for entries is May 3.

Phil Live concert at Courthouse
Fort Wayne Philharmonic will perform a free, around town Live at Lunch concert at 12 p.m. May 12 at the Allen County Courthouse Rotunda, 715 S. Calhoun St. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the Allen County Courthouse.
Conductor will be the Philharmonic’s assistant conductor Caleb Young. Subsequent concerts will be announced at a later date.
Live at Lunch is similar to the former pop-up series called Random Acts of Music. Designed to reach people in their own workplaces or convenient public settings.
