The Komets placed forward Stephon Thorne on waivers today and activated forward Taylor Crunk who has been dealing with an ankle injury.

What's also interesting is that Quad City goaltender C.J. Motte, an ECHL all-star, has signed with Charlotte of the AHL. The player he replaced got sent back to Charlotte today, but you'd have to guess that maybe he won't be back in time for tonight's game. Motte ranks second in the ECHL with a 2.25 goals against average and .931 save percentage despite being 1-2 against Fort Wayne this season.

Shawn Szydlowski is also sitting out tonight's game with an illness. Must be the curse of Schrock's revenge!
