That might be the best game I've ever seen Pat Nagle play. His teammates just didn't have it for the first 30 minutes Wednesday night... Not sure I've ever seen three flukier goals than the Mallards got. The puck kept popping free right to a forward's stick inside 10 feet with no Komet around to challenge them... The Komets had 17 turnovers in the first period... After his first-period goal, Mike Cazzola had three goals on four shots in the series. Now he's got three on five... Mason Baptista played tonight and Brett Perlini sat out... They announced crowd was 1,969. The game started at 6:35 p.m. local time... The Komets are 23-0 all-time in series when they lead 3-0. They have swept 12 times... Kyle Thomas's goal 22 seconds into overtime was the second-fastest overtime goal ever scored by a Komet. Reggie Primeau scored 16 seconds into overtime on March 31, 1965 against Dayton... Peoria's Dennis Cyr scored 17 seconds into overtime against the Komets on May 3, 1985... There have been 14 overtime goals scored inside the first minute in Komets playoff games... This is the fourth time the Komets have played an overtime playoff game on April 19... The Komets are 5-1-1 in Quad City this season, and the Mallards have lost seven playoffs games in a row... Seems like the iWireless Center is having trouble making good ice at this time of year, too. The puck was rolling and bouncing all night... Defenseman Will Weber continues to wear a cage as the result of Alex Petan's high stick in Game 1. The two were called for roughing penalties during the first period... The Komets have won at least one road game in 17 of their last 19 playoff series back to 2007. Only four of those series went to seven games, meaning the Komets have usually won road games early in series... The iWireless Center has a quirk where the benches aren't long enough so the visiting back-up goaltender has to sit outside the rink in the doorway where the Komets come off the ice. I'm sure Garrett Bartus had some real friendly conversations with the natives Wednesday night.
