After a Junior Day visit over the weekend, cornerback Kalon Gervin out of Detroit, Mich. verbally committed to Notre Dame on Monday.  The 4-star prospect raved about his visit to South Bend coming out of the weekend, then chose the Fighting Irish as Coach Brian Kelly lands a quality recruit in the Class of 2018 at a need position.

Gervin holds nearly three dozen offers, including Michigan, Michigan State and Oklahoma. He is rated as the No. 20 cornerback and the No. 164 overall prospect in the country by 247sports.com, a national recruiting service.

The Irish secondary is in need of bodies after landing just two players in the secondary in the Class of 2017, neither of which are natural corners.

Notre Dame's Class of 2018 now stands at seven pledges, led by quarterback Phil Jurkovec out of Pennsylvania, the No. 2 quarterback and No. 28 overall prospect in the country, per 247sports.com.
