Heritage has announced the hiring of Shelly Schwartz as their new volleyball coach for the 2017-2018 school year.

A 28-year veteran of coaching, Schwartz has found success on the club level several times, once placing third nationally of 110 teams. Schwartz recently coached the Jorgensen Volleyball Club based in Decatur.

Schwartz replaces Steve Walter, who led the Patriots to a 27-9 record last year before falling to Bellmont in the Sectional final. They finished the 2016 regular season ranked 14th in Class 3A.

Schwartz' daughter Jamie was a standout at Adams Central before playing at IPFW in the mid to late 2000s.
