While his team did not win the SAC Holiday Tournament or even play in the finals, Richard Robertson sure made an impression.  The Northrop senior scored a combined 56 points in a pair of tournament games for the Bruins, opening eyes and sending people to the ballot box, where he received 39 percent of the vote to be named News-Sentinel Fan Choice Player of the Week.

Robertson dropped 35 points on South Side in a Northrop victory, tying for the eighth-most points ever scored in a game in the boys' tournament. He followed that effort up with 21 points in a loss to eventual champion North Side.

The closest competition to Robertson for the award was Drake Thompson of Blackhawk Christian, who picked up 19 percent of the vote.

Other contenders were Malik Williams of Snider, Jaylen Butz of North Side, Diamond Towns of New Haven and Kam Yarion of Garrett.

A total of 491 votes were cast.
