I want to thank the Fort Wayne Police Department for calling our home at 3:30 a.m. to report that our garage door was open. We appreciate them patrolling our neighborhoods, keeping us safe.

The Northrop High School Big Orange Pride marching band placed 40th out of 91 bands at the Bands of America Grand National Championships last Thursday through Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

♦Airman Danielle L. Leins graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is the daughter of Steve Leins of Fort Wayne and a 2009 graduate of East Noble High School, Kendallville.
My oldest grandson, not yet 15, is already taking driver's education. In fact, he's already been behind the wheel with his instructor, on an interstate highway, no less. I'm resigned to his obtaining his license in a little more than a year.
AMERICAN LEGION POST 296, 130 W. Tillman Road, will have a Post Everlasting ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 to honor members of Post 296 who have passed away during the last year.
