Tuesday officially opened Allen County government's Stronebridge Business Park on Lafayette Center Road across from the General Motors truck plant. The ribbon-cutting culminated a process that began in 2010, when county officials set aside funds for land banking after recognizing that the community lacked large tracts of development‐ready land.

Later that year, the county Redevelopment Commission purchased land that was formerly called Silverado Industrial Park. The commission invested more than $6 million after the purchase of the land on streets, water and sewer lines and a regional storm water system.

The park contains 12 shovel-ready lots, allowing for up to 124 contiguous acres.
