Too many United States marriages end in divorce and split families apart. Because men and women have been marrying prematurely, they later feel that divorce is necessary.Approximately 50 percent of American marriages end in divorce. There are many causes of divorce, such as financial stress or living with a fiancÚ. One of the most common reasons of divorce is that spouses do not trust each other. All of these experiences can end in a broken family.

As well as the adults, children are affected by divorce. Many children blame themselves for divorce. They think that they did something to make their parents break up. Furthermore, they hate seeing their parents argue. Sadly, about half of American children will witness the divorce of their parents. Many children will be affected by divorce unless it can be stopped.

Many married adults try to adapt their marriages to prevent divorce. They may take marriage counseling so that another person will be the mediator. For some couples religion is a problem; therefore, knowing the spouse’s religion before marriage can help. Overall, though, trust is the most important factor in maintaining a healthy marriage.

Therefore, divorce affects everyone in the family, including children. Is it really worth all of that trouble to break a family apart?
