•Northeast Indiana Works and WorkOne Northeast Veterans 1st Hiring event will be 10 a.m-2 p.m. May 8 at the Allen Country War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave. It will provide an opportunity for military veterans and their spouses to discuss job opportunities with as many as 75 regional employers. Professionals from the Northeast Indiana Human Resource Association will be on hand to evaluate resumes and help veterans prepare for job searches through mock interviews.

•Indiana High Speed Rail Association, now the Indiana Passenger Rail Alliance, Call For Chapter Proposals is in effect through May 31. Topic will be “Emerging Challenges and Opportunities of High Speed Rail Development on Business and Society.” The book will be published that provides for the necessary resources for high-speed rail stakeholders.
