Fort Wayne colleges, groups donate spring baskets to SCAN

SCAN (Stop Child Abuse and Neglect) partnered with local universities, community members and organizations to collect and distribute spring baskets for children of families participating in SCAN's programs. Area education organizations including University of Saint Francis, IPFW, Trine University-Fort Wayne, and the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program collected items and assembled the baskets. Area education organizations including University of Saint Francis, IPFW, Trine University-Fort Wayne, and the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program collected items and assembled the baskets.

Employees were busy Wednesday unloading the baskets delivered to SCAN, 500 W. Main St. Last year, SCAN, with the help of area universities, provided more than 1,700 baskets to the children of clients. The number this year is about the same, said Britney Berndt, communications and grants manager.
