Letter to the editor: Consider trail users

Wednesday, April 16, 2014 - 12:01 am

This is an open letter to the Allen County Plan Commissioners:

I recently read a story about your meeting to rezone land in the north end of the county from agricultural to single family. What particularly caught my attention was the seeming rush to “let the process play out” when it came to letting Fort Wayne Trails have a 30-day stay to see if they can come up with some money.

As the Plan Commission you work with developers, yes, but not for developers. Your job is representing the interests of all of Allen County’s residents in planning land use. Some 197 families would live in this proposed subdivision. Far more people than that use the trails in Allen County. I am one of them. Our voices should be given consideration, too.
