Letter to the editor: FOP breakfast proceeds will help worthy kids programs

Tuesday, April 15, 2014 - 12:01 am

Well, Bob Evans Restaurants and the fire, police, city-county FCU have done it again.

On March 8 the hungry crowd at the ninth annual Fraternal Order of Police Pancake and Sausage Breakfast were greeted with cold temperatures, snow and an ample supply of slush.

But the more than 300 participants in attendance were rewarded with hot pancakes and sausage provided and prepared by Coventry, Bob Evans Restaurant manager Doug Strader and his team of volunteer managers.

The warm smiles and open hearts of fire, police, city-county credit union president Nancy Kline along with her unbelievable staff and the FOP Associate Lodge 6 members who served the wonderful fare, added the final warmth for those in attendance.

The generous donations will be used for the FOP community events programs, which include “Kops for Kids" (formerly Shop with a Cop) the Bicycle Helmet Program, Forgotten Families and more.
