First it was going in downtown as part of The Harrison. Then it was supposedly going to be built at Getz Road and West Jefferson Boulevard where a Richards Restaurant used to be. Now we can finally say where Scotty's Brewhouse will be located in Fort Wayne.
The sports bar, with locations in Indianapolis, Muncie, Bloomington, Lafayette, Mishawaka, Brownsburg and Carmel, has signed a lease and will go into the location where Buckets Sports Pub and Grub is now at 6282 W. Jefferson Blvd.
Owner Scott Wise says the building will be remodeled to give it a Scotty's look, with garage doors opening up onto a patio with an awning. The new Scotty's also will have a private dining area that can be rented out. He hopes to open the new restaurant this September.

LongHorn stakes claim
Looks like a new steakhouse is planning to build in Fort Wayne.
LongHorn Steakhouse is planning to build a 6,200-square-foot steakhouse at 5050 Value Drive. That's over by the new Costco off Lima Road. This information comes from a legal notice published recently in the paper regarding storm water drainage.
LongHorn is part of the Darden group of restaurants, which also includes Olive Garden, Red Lobster and others. It's described on the Darden website as having a “relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of a Western rancher's home.” LongHorn serves steaks, chicken and fish that are fresh, never frozen according to their website. LongHorn has more than 435 restaurants. To learn more about the restaurant and see its menu, go to www.longhornsteakhouse.com.
We'll let you know when we know more, but it probably will be awhile; at this point they're just taking construction bids. A spokeswoman from Darden said via email, “We are currently pursuing permits for a location in Fort Wayne and that's all the information I can share at this time.”
