Some social service agencies to consolidate in one building March 31

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration announced Thursday that as of March 31, the Fort Wayne office of the Indiana Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services' (DDRS) Bureau of Developmental Disabilities (BDDS) and Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) will move their offices to a new location.Currently at 219 W. Wayne St. in Fort Wayne, they will relocate to 201 E. Rudisill Blvd., Suite 300. DDRS is part of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). This move is intended to make it easier for Hoosiers in Allen and surrounding counties to receive services from FSSA, as the new office will be co-located with FSSA's Division of Family Resources and other state agencies.

According to Marni Lemon, Deputy Director Communications & Media Family and Social Services Administration State of Indiana, the move is happening now because of the end of the lease on the old location.

The service area for the Vocational Rehabilitation Services office at this location includes Allen, DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben and Whitley counties. The Bureau of Developmental Disabilities office's service area includes Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley counties.

Starting March 31, the office's address will be: 201 E. Rudisill Blvd., Suite 300, Fort Wayne, IN 46806. Their new phone numbers will be: BDDS, 260-423-2571 or 877-218-3061 and VRS, 260-424-1595 or 877-715-5292.
