Letter to the editor: Truly stupid acts by our government

Arizona’s Republican Legislature takes the prize for prejudice – even if Jon Brewer vetoes the anti-gay discrimination bill. Equally stupid is the claim that this bill protects religious freedom in the U.S. The NFL should move Super Bowl XLIX from Glendale, already scheduled for Feb. 1, 2015, regardless of what Brewer does.The FCC’s proposed study of journalists. The only thing more un-American is the attempt to make America a religious, aka Christian, nation. But, regardless, the FCC still wants to look at how the sausage is being made at MSNBC and Fox; examples only. Can there be such a critter as intelligent bias?

The GOP’s giving ex-rocker Ted Nugent a seat at their table under the Big Hate Tent. The nasty words of Nugent don’t belong in American politics. Its failure to forcefully reject the likes of Nugent is plainly accommodating divisiveness.

The Indiana House Ways and Means Committee approved a provision that would allow some state contractors to discriminate against employees based on the religion of the contractor, aka a “forget-it” to gays and lesbians. Jim Crow codified, huh?

John Boehner’s immigration retreat.

Rand Paul’s impeaching Bill Clinton again.

Paul Ryan called Obama a “lawless dictator.”

Alan Grayson’s comparing the tea party to the Klan.

I’m looking forward to seeing George W. Bush’s art exhibit at his presidential library in Dallas in April, even if we taxpayers have to foot the bill.
