Weather cancellations for Wednesday; public schools are closed

Updated at 8:53 a.m.: Allen, Huntington, Kosciusko, Wells and Whitley counties are under a weather travel watch, which means only essential travel, such as to and from work or emergency situations is recommended.Adams and Wabash counties are under a travel advisory, which means routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and travelers should use caution or avoid those areas.

Fort Wayne Community Schools; meeting with PTA Council is rescheduled at 6 p.m. March 19 at Northrop High School.

FWCS District Offices will be closing at 2 p.m.All Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation classes are canceled.

All Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department facilities will also close at noon. This includes Salomon Farm, the Botanical Conservatory, Community Center, and the Jennings, Cooper, and Weisser youth centers.

All classes and activities located in Park Department facilities will resume on Thursday.

There will be no garbage and recycling pick up today. Services have been delayed one day.

All locations of the Allen County Public Library will close at 5:00 p.m.

Lutheran Medical Group locations in northeastern Indiana will close at noon. Patients experiencing medical emergencies are urged to call 9-1-1.

City offices at Citizens Square will close at noon today. However, Allen County offices (those in Citizens Square, the Rousseau Centre, the Allen County Courthouse, etc.) will remain open.

Emergency services will continue to operate. In addition, residents with questions and concerns may continue to contact 311 to have those issues addressed.

The sledding hill at Franke Park is closed to winter weather enthusiasts due to dangerous circumstances.

The Downtown Riverfront Study public input meeting scheduled for tonight at the Downtown Public Library has been canceled.

Tomorrow's meeting will take place as scheduled from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., with a presentation at 11:15 a.m.

St. Joseph Medical Group will close at noon.

MD Imaging - Lake Avenue will close at noon.

Anthony Medical Center will close at noon.

St. Joseph Hospital offsite services will close at noon. (THIS DOES NOT INVOLVE SERVICES IN THE HOSPITAL. AS ALWAYS, ST. JOE WILL REMAIN OPEN) Patients in need of emergency care should call 9-1-1.

All RediMed clinics in northeastern Indiana are closed. Patients with medical emergencies should call 9-1-1.

Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control adoption centers are closed. Pet receiving and reclaim will stay open until 5 p.m. Animal Control Officers will be available for emergency dispatch until midnight by contacting 427-1244.

Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health will close its offices at 3:30 p.m.Trinity Episcopal Church, 611 West Berry, 6 p.m. service and program are cancelled for this evening.
