Pathways: 'Happy Days', Thanksgiving events, more

CALVARY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 6301 Winchester Road, will hold a dinner and a “Happy Days” musical variety show at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children under 13. Reservations: 747-9218 or 485-0799 by Nov. 11.

CHRIST CHILD FESTIVAL will take place 6-9 p.m. Dec. 6, noon-8 p.m. Dec. 7 and noon-5 p.m. Dec. 8 at University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St. Free admission.

CRESCENT AVENUE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 1232 Crescent Ave., will have a Taize meditation and worship service at 5 p.m. Sunday.

It will also hold its annual turkey dinner 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 24. Traditional Thanksgiving meal. Donations will be taken, with proceeds going toward the church's Fort Wayne Area Missions project. EPWORTH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 105 W. 8th St., Matthews, will have Tribute Quartet perform in concert at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 17; free admission.

FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 4800 S. Calhoun St., will present Walk to Bethlehem 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 14-15. Free admission.

FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST, SCIENTIST, will host a free talk by Maryl Walters at 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza. Walters, a spiritual healer, teacher and interfaith advocate, will speak about overcoming violence through love.

FIRST MENNONITE CHURCH, Berne, will hold rehearsals at 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 3 for Handel's “Messiah.” Dress rehearsal is Dec. 6, with performances Dec. 7-8.

LEO UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 13527 Leo Road, Leo-Cedarville, will hold “Surviving the Holidays,” a special Griefshare seminar for those who are grieving the loss of someone close this year, 10 a.m.-noon Nov. 23. Reservations: 627-2580.

NEW HAVEN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 630 Lincoln Highway E., New Haven, will hold the annual community Thanksgiving dinner 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 28.

TRINITY ENGLISH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 405 W. Wayne St., will hold evening prayer at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Nave, with music led by Trinity English Schola Cantorum.

TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1636 St. Mary's Ave., will have Thanksgiving Eve service at 7 p.m. Nov. 27. For those who cannot attend services, the 2012 Thanksgiving Eve service will be broadcast at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 and 11 a.m. Nov. 28 on Comcast Channel 55 and Frontier FiOS Channel 25. Universal Education Foundation of Fort Wayne Islamic School will host its annual Eid Dinner at 7 p.m. Saturday, at Landmark Conference and Reception Center, 6222 Ellison Road.
