Assuming God is all powerful, what is required for man to be created in the image of God? There must be sufficient knowledge to define the choices in life and to define which choices are consistent with the love of God. However, sufficient ignorance of God's total power is also required if we are to be able to make these choices without a compelling need to choose God's will, i.e. to be able to make these choices through acts of free will.
This explains the limited knowledge that we have in our Jewish and Christian religions. Our written and spoken traditions define our options sufficiently for us to know the necessary choices if we wish for our lives to be consistent with the love that is God. Our lack of direct knowledge and proof of God's total power gives us the ability to make these choices in acts of free will.
