Ravens regroup, look for more former Colts receivers

Tuesday, September 10, 2013 - 3:03 am

Peyton Manning tied the NFL record with seven touchdown passes in the Denver Broncos' win over the Baltimore Ravens. Afterward, several Ravens said they couldn't understand Ray Lewis' postgame voicemail message.

Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco spent a lot of the game targeting Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley. He's really hoping the Ravens pick up Marvin Harrison this week.

Do you hear a baby crying?

Miami Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace was upset with having only one catch in the opener and refused to talk to reporters afterward.

With the pout, Wallace broke Terrell Owens' record for staging the earliest wide receiver diva moment of a season.

One toke over the line

New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been given a five-game suspension without pay for violating the league's anti-drug program. The move will cost him $252,000. I don't care how much you make, that's a lot of money up in smoke.

The NBA and the players union had no further comment under their, um, joint agreement.

Rodman on the road again

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman returned to North Korea for another visit with the country's leader Kim Jong Un. Some think Rodman is acting on his own, but others suspect it's a secret United States plan to annoy Kim Jong Un into submission.

What would Beyonce say?

Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd is buying a portion of Jay Z's ownership in the team. No word on whether this will allow Kidd to fire himself if he loses in the first round of the playoffs.

Photoshop follies

Did you see where UNLV accidentally put former basketball coach Lon Kruger on a billboard advertising season tickets? The school vowed to change it and put current coach what's-his-name up there as soon as possible.

Seacrest in

A lot of NFL fans on Twitter were annoyed by the fact Ryan Seacrest was part of the league's season opener Thursday. But few knew the inside story. Seacrest earned the gig legitimately by arm-wrestling Justin Bieber.
