PLAINFIELD — Authorities have confirmed that remains found inside a car that was pulled from a retention pond west of Indianapolis are those of a 27-year-old man who has been missing for two years.

Hendricks County Coroner Joe Neuman said Saturday the body had been identified through dental records as that of Morgan Johnson.

Johnson was last seen in May 2011 leaving his motel room in Plainfield.

Johnson, who grew up in Terre Haute, was living at the Plainfield motel in May 2011 while working nearby. He had just been informed of his grandfather's death before he disappeared, with his seizure medication and other personal items left behind in his room, authorities said.

Police said at the time that Johnson might have had a seizure while he was driving.
