Thursday afternoon marked another farmers market at the Slataper Street Gardens, run by the Catherine Kasper Place.

Every week people who have a plot come to pick up their fresh vegetables while fresh veggies are also sold to the public. Holly Chaille, agency director, said in about two weeks their crops, which are just coming in now, will be booming.

The Slataper Street Farm is on 2 acres with 14 client plots and 36 raised beds. Agency clients learn how to grow healthy plants and to manage their crops. Look for fresh honey in August. The farm has its own colony of honey bees.
