Artist Jerrod Tobias and his wife, Kara, installed a temporary piece of art on the exterior of the Allen County Public Library on Thursday afternoon. The artwork made from acrylic paint and butcher paper is pasted to the building with a wheat paste, which dries clear. Over time as the artwork is exposed to the elements it will gradually disintegrate. Tobias, who has a degree in art from the Cleveland Art Institute, said the short life of the work reflects the temporary nature of life. Last year he did a series of these around town. This year he has expanded the size of the pieces and the number that he will be installing around town.
