I recently flew back into Fort Wayne. My seat partner and I were discussing the cookie we would receive. He said, “I know one of them, she's in her 90s” (looks like 70 and pretty). What an incentive for retirees. He said, “This isn't her only volunteer place. She was at the Lincoln Museum for 13 years. It closed in 2008. Still at A Baby's Closet now for 21 years.
Thanks to the pretty senior who was near us in the grocery. We were discussing our meager grocery budget. She said, “Pardon me, but why would you buy a gallon of milk at $2.48 when you can buy 1/2 gallon for $1. You'd save 48 cents. We checked, and she was right. Not only that, I drink 2 percent and the homogenized, so she taught us a lot.
Thank you to Joe and Sandy for the lovely surprise and treat on June 19 at the Lunch Box.
