TinCaps rally to win homestand finale

Fort Wayne scored 2 in 7th to top Loons

The Fort Wayne TinCaps ended their homestand with a 6-5 win over the Great Lakes Loons (6-12, 48-38) Monday night at Parkview Field before 4,741 fans.

Maxx Tissenbaum's two-out, two-run single with the bases loaded in the seventh inning made the difference in Fort Wayne overcoming a three-run deficit to the Loons (13-7, 40-48) .

The TinCaps now have 19 come-from-behind victories this season, and it clinched another series win and a winning homestand..

The Loons scored in the first off starter Walker Weickel. Corey Seagle drove in two runs with a single.

Fort Wayne came back with a run in the first on a sacrifice fly by Diego Goris and a run in the fourth on a double by Brian Adams.

Great Lakes jumped back ahead with three in the fifth inning to chase Weickel. Colin Rea walked home a run and gave up a two-run single to Aaron Miller. The TinCaps came back with two runs on Luis Tejada's RBI single and Luis Domoromo's sac fly.

Tissenbaum and Dane Phillips were the offensive stars for Fort Wayne. Phillips was four for four with four singles. But Brian Adams helped trigger

The winning rally after Adams strruck out. But a wild pitch on that play allowed him to reach first base safely. Mallex Smith then walked to load the bases before Tissenbaum's game-winning single.

Chris Nunn earned his seventh win in relief with two scoreless innings. Roman Madrid earned his 14th save with a scoreless ninth inning.

The TinCaps are off Tuesday before starting a six-game road trip Wednesday in Wisconsin
