To the Carlisle family:The board of directors, staff and volunteers of Metro Youth Sports sincerely extend our love and prayers to you and the family of a true hero.

Derrick Carlisle will forever be a hero for Metro Youth Sports. He was a first-rate mentor to the children and parents as a coach for the Cardinals.

Derrick had a special gift and a beautiful smile; he was a person who wanted to make a difference in the lives of children, especially those he felt needed just a bit more attention, motivation and encouragement.

Derrick was paramount among the coaches and vital providing leadership who took personal responsibility to ensure there will always be an outstanding football program for the children in Metro Youth Sports. He loved Metro Youth Sports football; the Cardinals team was his much-loved favorite. His spirit of will continue to be a special part of the lives of the children who participate in Metro Youth Sports.

Derrick, our prayer at Metro Youth Sports is: The Lord welcomes you as one of his good and faithful servants. At Metro Youth Sports you were an outstanding, good and faithful friend. We love you, we will miss you and will never forget you.

James R. Winters, president, Metro Youth Sports
