The Alzheimer's Association will hold “Know the 10 Signs,” a free workshop on detecting the warning signs of Alzheimer's disease, noon-1 p.m. June 26 at 6324 Constitution Drive. The workshop is open to the public. Registration is required; call 1-800-272-3900.
Dual benefit event
A fundraiser to benefit Orlan Holmes, a double-lung transplant recipient, and Locks of Love takes place 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday-Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at A Cut Above Hair Salon, 4514 Parnell Ave. Locks of Love provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from hair loss from any diagnosis.
The National Foundation for Transplants also will have cookbooks for sale to assist with Holmes' medical expenses.
