INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller is warning Indiana residents to be wary of people looking to collect donations intended for Oklahoma's storm victims.

Zoeller says unfortunately when tragedy strikes, so do scammers looking to take advantage of the hearts and wallets of charitable donors. He says people should do research and make contact with a reputable charity.

He says people being solicited for donations should ask the caller for written information on the charitable organization, including the charity's name, address, telephone number, mission and details on how the donation will be used. He also says people should be watch for charities with similar sounding names.
