A Hicksville, Ohio, man has a broken arm and internal injuries after the tractor-trailer he was driving jackknifed after it left the road in DeKalb County.

The crash happened around 10:36 a.m. on Indiana 8, just east of County Road 51, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. A 2006 Kenworth rig driven by Gary L. McCain was westbound as it rounded a curve, then left the road, traveled about 150 feet and struck a tree.

The rig overturned, coming to rest on the passenger side, according to the release. McCain, 46, was trapped inside and had to be retrieved by members of the Butler Fire Department.

McCain was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center with multiple breaks to his right arm and chest and internal injuries, the release said. He was admitted in stable condition. The rig sustained as much as $50,000 worth of damage.
