HENRYVILLE — Some survivors of a deadly tornado that hit a southern Indiana town last year are making plans to help the Oklahoma community torn apart by a storm this week.
Toby Jenkins is the pastor at Henryville's First Baptist Church. He tells WRTV that the devastation in Oklahoma brings back many memories about the March 2012 tornado that raked across southern Indiana, killing 14 people.
Jenkins says he's planning to travel to Moore, Okla., soon to share with pastors there his experiences from Henryville's tornado recovery.
Henryville High School science teacher Karen Albert tells WDRB-TV she also plans on going to Oklahoma next month to help people there. The Henryville school complex was badly damaged and closed for months after the tornado hit.
