•IPFW has appointed John O'Connell dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts. He began his tenure at IPFW in 2007 as chair and professor of the Department of Theatre. He has worked in various off and off-off Broadway theaters as a producer, director and stage manager.

He has served in a variety of roles at several colleges over the past 17 years and served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve for a total of 24 years. He earned a bachelor of science in political science and master of science degree in education administration and foundations both from Illinois State University.
